On Friday night, Kat and I stayed at the White Eagle in North Portland. The bar has been there for more than 100 years, and the rooms above were once part of a brothel. Now they're just for bums like us.
We met up with Troy and Darien, and later, Clark and Naomi (above).
The hallways were very narrow...

We got settled and started primping...
Katie and Kat... Primping for parties together for more than a decade....

The walls in the rooms and hallways are covered with wonderful poetry and quotes. Here are some samples:

Here are some photographs from that week in Milwaukie and Portland... Which included a trip to Shari's (duh).

(Our attempt at a self-portrait thanks to my camera's timer)

Erin and I met up with Scott and Rebecca and headed south, to Dad's...

My mountain... Always makes me smile.

Dad barbecued and cooked up a storm...

Good times.

A family portrait...

And a more realistic portrayal...

After the day in Bainbridge, I went out in Seattle with Nicole and Erin...

We went to a restaurant that served midwestern beer, fried cheese curds, and tater tot casserole... and after that, we hit up a bar where we played skeeball. It was awesome. In fact, it was the exact same night Nicole planned for us last time I was in Seattle, but I got deathly ill and couldn't go. So, it was nice to finally have it happen.

Moose roam the streets. Seems everyone carries a gun. Winters of constant darkness. Summers of neverending light. Read all about it, right here...

"There is an ecstasy that marks the summit of life, and beyond which life cannot rise. And such is the paradox of living, this ecstasy comes when one is most alive, and it comes as a complete forgetfulness that one is alive."

-- Jack London, The Call of the Wild
